MTN Nigeria Board condemns Xenophobia and Violence.

“The Board of MTN Nigeria wishes to add its unequivocal condemnation of the xenophobia and violence against Nigerians and other nationalities in South Africa over the recent days, as well as the violent response to it in Nigeria. Violence cannot and must never be acceptable and we must reject it in the strongest terms possible.

Femi Falodun To Speak At PRCAN Masterclass

The Public Relations Consultants Association of Nigeria (PRCAN) has announced Mr Femi Falodun, the CEO of Marketing, Media and Technology company, ID Africa, as one of the speakers during their masterclass themed: ‘How to write Winning PR Proposals, Plans and Case Studies’ happening on Friday, March 22, 2019.

Mr Falodun, who has years of experience, consulting on diverse Public Relations, Content Marketing, Digital Communication campaigns and developing strategies/tactics for some of Nigeria’s biggest brands will be drawing knowledge from his robust wealth of experience to speak on the topic: ‘Documenting PR Campaigns as Case Studies.’

TG Expo To Hold Maiden Edition Of Machinery, Metal And Steel Exhibition In Nigeria

TG Expo, which is an international trade fair organizer, will host the first ever Machinery Metal & Steel Exhibition to the industry professionals and government officials in Nigeria at the Expo Center of the Eko Hotel and Suites, Victoria Island, Lagos from the 18th to the 20th of October 2017.

In 2015, Nigeria imported 4.5 Billion USD worth of iron and steel goods. This makes the country 52nd largest importer in the world with machinery and metal & metal products as its major imports. Nigeria’s major aluminum imports include aluminum plates, profiles, structures, bars and doors, windows and their frames & thresholds. These product groups account for 18% of Nigeria’s entire imports.

Nigeria is a net importer of machinery as its imports in 2015 amounted to 4.52 billion USD. 11.1% of Nigeria’s aggregate imports in 2015 were machinery imports. Nigeria’s top machinery imports include taps, cocks, valves and similar appliances for pipes, boiler shells, tanks used in oil industry, machines and mechanical appliances having individual functions and pumps for liquids, whether or not fitted with a measuring device.

The Nigerian Professional football league 2016/17 season came to an entertaining end with a pulsating final match between Plateau United and Rangers International at Rwang Pam stadium in Jos on Saturday 9th of September 2017.

Two Nigerians Included In 2017 JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons of the World List

Two Nigerians, Imrana Alhaji Buba and Adepeju Jaiyeoba, have been announced as recipients of JCI Ten Outstanding Young Persons (JCI TOYP) of the year award for 2017. This is the first time in the organisation’s 34 years history that two Nigerians will appear on the global list, which features inspiring young achievers nominated by JCI organisations in over 120 countries, and selected through public votes and a panel of judges.

The remarkable achievement was revealed in a statement released by Junior Chamber International from its St. Louis, United States global headquarters.

Adepeju and Imrana were recently honoured at the JCI Nigeria 60th Anniversary TOYP Gala in Lagos alongside other recipients of the national edition of the awards. The two will later join 8 other global honorees to be celebrated at the 2017 JCI Awards Ceremony on November 9th, 2017 during the JCI World Congress in Amsterdam, Netherlands.

Imrana Buba, an indigene of Yobe State is being honoured for Contribution to Children, World Peace and Human Rights based on his efforts in founding and leading Youth Coalition Against Terrorism (YOCAT), a team of over 600 students, lawyers, health care professionals, educators, development workers, and activists working since 2010 to unite youth against violent extremism in North-Eastern Nigeria.

Adepeju Jaiyeoba, a trained lawyer, is being honoured in the Medical Innovation category for her efforts in addressing the national challenge of inadequate maternal healthcare, through her Brown Button Foundation, which has trained over 60,000 Traditional Birth Attendants (TBAs) on modern medical skills across 33 Nigerian states, touching the lives of 60,000 women and babies.

Junior Chamber International (JCI), a 101 years old organisation present in over 120 countries, uses the Ten Outstanding Young Persons (TOYP) Awards as a platform to identify, recognize and celebrate young professionals under the age of 40, who are doing outstanding work in their various communities and fields of endeavour across the world.
